Over the years Boyd III Coaches have had a lot to say about this tough young athlete,now a 2007 NFL Candidate at the University of Illinois.
It all started back in high school when surrounded by star athletes, his dad and cousin who played college football, Arthur became a 3 year letterman and was a 2 season starter. He registered 33 tackles and 3 sacks and was named the "Shaker Heights’ High School, Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman". Later, he was ranked the "Number 1 fullback in Ohio", by Stars Magazine.
Arthur also participated in Track and Field was listed among the top 50 Preps in Ohio by rivals.com. He received high acclaim for being a top Track and Field Athlete. He competed in the District Meets for 200 meters Shot Put and Discuss as a sophomore and junior student. During his senior year he was named an All Conference, All Areas and All Districts and participated in the National High School ALL STARS Combine.
In 2002 Coach David Sedmak of the Shaker Heights High School Football recognized his budding strength stating: "He's a big strong kid."
Later during 2002 he was recognized by Coach Larry Johnson, Defensive Line, Penn State University who after seeing Arthur play against his All American Tackles and Ends at their Summer Football Camp 2002 stated, " Arthur is my next Courtney Brown! "
2004- February, Donnie Tompson, East Carolina University Former University of Illinois, Defensive line Coach stated,"I have coached several 1st Round NFL Defensive Lineman at the University of North Carolina, among them Julius Peppers, Eukban, Greg Ellis, Brian Simmons and others. Simmons was my quickest lineman, Arthur is quicker than Simmons. Arthur has stuff that even Julius Peppers doesn't have. He will go to the next level."
Tim Robertson, Speed Strength Systems Inc, Euclid, Ohio reports,"Arthur has a great work ethic and won't quit. For any questions call me at (216) 531-7950".
2007- February, Coach John Cullen, NFL Detroit Lions stated, " I coached Arthur at the University of Illinois, He has an outstanding work ethic, is coachable and quick off the ball. He can play NFL Football without question. Contact me at (313) 421 9700."
2007- Mentor/Coach Ted Ginn Sr father of Ted Ginn JR. stated " Arthur is a quick big cat, an NFL Draftee for sure. I have worked with Arthur since 2002, he has run a 4.54 sec 40 yard dash."
Arthur's current speed trainer Tim Graf of www.grafspeed.com recently stated" I am preparing Arthur for the University of Illinois Pro Day on March 14,and of 28 players I sent to the NFL he is the best, he is the most coachable and has the best work ethic. He never quits. He is a dominate player."
Arthur is a Prime NFL Candidate Draft Candidate who is expected to dominate on March 14, 2007 at the University of Illinois Pro Day.
