(Oklahoma City)
Local writer, Mark Maxey, recently was published by Rice University as part of their experimental writers site at www.cnx.org . Maxey wrote a treatise about social justice as a means for local churches to get involved. You can read the book at http://cnx.org/content/col10405/latest/
“The book is written with the idea that the underlying message from the Bible is all about social justice,” Maxey said. “I have been thorough I hope in showing the parallels within the scriptures. In the chaos of today’s media reflection of society, I knew this message of social justice needs to be identified.” The booklet is entitled Social Justice from an Esoteric View.
The booklet traces the history of some of the saints and how their past previous life could be objectionable to today’s standards. However, Maxey weaves a lucid flow of showing how God has used their past as a testament of God’s social justice to the world.
“I feel this booklet needs to be read by all Christians, and even other religious sects. I think the more we can grow into a society of offering social justice, our world will be a better place to live,” Maxey reflected.
