March 12, 2007 (Press Release) --
"The facts are clear and simple. Somewhere between one and one and half million Armenians were killed by the Ottoman Turks from 1915-1918. This act of forced removal and marching large groups of people across country could be called nothing else but what it is- genocide." Explained Nadalia Bagratuni.
Ms. Bagratuni explained on her recent book signing tour for her newest novel, "Behold My Teacher's Pet," that all Americans should be appalled at the behavior of the Turks both then and now.
"I realize it took place over 90 years ago. However, the Turks today still can not admit it took place, they can not accept responsibility, and this issue almost more than any other issue in the world today can point out the differences between realities of policies and beliefs in Moslem country. All one has to do is to look at how the Ottoman Turks treated the Armenian Christians and the Greek Orthodox Christians from 1915-1921 and you can see religious tensions between these two cultures. Now added to this the denial of the modern Turks and you have a recipe for disaster." Bagratuni added.
Nadalia Bagratuni's novels are available through Amazon. com and Lucy Rose Publishing. Her next novel will be set in the turbulent Ottoman Empire around 1915.
