St. Louis, MO, March 24, 2007
St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness (SLOCA) is hosting “Living Out Loud” a live and silent auction/dinner at the Edward Jones Headquarters on Saturday, March 24 starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be music from Hudson and the Hoodoo Cats, hors d’oeuvres, wine and “Tealtinis”and fabulous auction items.
SLOCA is a volunteer group that works to promote awareness of early warning signs, standard of care, ovarian cancer research and survivor support. The money raised through “Living Out Loud” is vital in continuing SLOCA’s work.
Ovarian cancer remains a serious and under-recognized threat to women’s health.
It occurs in one out of fifty-seven women. Ovarian cancer is difficult to diagnose. The majority of women are not aware of their disease until they are in advanced stages. If caught early ovarian cancer has a survival rate of 95%. Just as prostate cancer and breast cancer have early detection methods; ovarian cancer needs a method to detect it in early stages. We need your help to reach this goal! Don’t let one of these women become your mother, sister, wife, or daughter.
