AwimAway.com is a new company that allow travellers full fill their dream of an exciting, different yet green adventure.
It aims to be the one-stop online resource for green adventures, providing tailor made tours at the best possible prices, and all the gear, advice and information to go with them.
Family holidays, group holidays, private guided tours – find them all at AwimAway.com. Travellers can log on and search for whatever they want, whether it’s biking in the Himalayas or trekking in Peru. They then fine-tune their search by specifying their requirements and comparing prices, tours and suppliers.
AwimAway experts will advise travellers and help them create their dream holiday – a holiday that
• starts and ends wherever and whenever they want
• has a tailor made itinerary made just for them
• comes within budget
• offers a choice of tour operator; and

Members will earn AwimAway miles that can be redeemed through the site. A personalised ''MyAwimAway.com'' feature will supply weekend escape ideas, including last-minute, Internet-only airfares.
AwimAway is negotiating an exclusive agreement with product suppliers, so that travellers can purchase specialty gear, books and other merchandise online.
Founded in 2005, AwimAway.com is a privately held company based in London. Founder and Managing Director Harish Kohli says:
“We know that people hanker to do something thrilling and different – but that they also want to travel green. We want to meet that demand. Our aim is for AwimAway.com to be the premier site for adventure travellers and travel providers around the world.”
Mr Kohli said the idea for AwimAway, formerly known as ExploreDirect.com, came to him after he had trouble planning and buying his own adventure trips. There are over 5,000 adventure travel operators in the UK alone, but few have any brand recognition. By pulling together 80 preferred tour operators, AwimAway will have an "inventory" of 4,000 trips available to enthusiasts.
Although Harish Kohli has a personal passion for adventure, he also recognises its commercial opportunities. The adventure travel market has been stagnant for many years but this is now the fastest-growing area of online travel, business is booming, if highly fragmented, and the barriers to entry are low for a consolidator such as AwimAway.
Harish Kohli’s own dream – to make others’ dreams come true – looks set to be fulfilled.
