R L Institute of Nautical Sciences, Madurai an off campus center of BITS, Pilani declared open a new Dr R Krishnamurthy Hostel Block

It was another auspicious day for RLINS conducting BS (Marine Engineering) and BS (Nautical Technology) programme as an off campus center of BITS, Pilani.
Keeping in mind the ever growing demand for the above courses and to meet the needs of hostel accommodation the management had constructed its third hostel block. The new block is aptly named after an eminent social worker Dr R Krishnamurthy. In honour of his service to the society at large Dr R Krishnamurthy was awarded a honorary doctorate by Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.
A grand function was brought up by RLINS for the inauguration of this hostel block on Tuesday March 13, 2007 at the institute campus. The new hostel block was declared open by Mr Hemant S Pathania, Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer, NYK Shipmangement Pte. Ltd. Singapore.
Mr Pathania and his colleagues Capt. Anuraj Singh and Capt. Ravi Kumar Mehrotra were thoroughly impressed by the new state of the art hostel block. The new block now offers accommodation of single occupancy to an additional 160 cadets. This gives a serene atmosphere for the cadets to pursue their studies in a very conducive environment.
Studies at RLINS are objective and career oriented. The stay for the cadets will be more pleasant with this additional infrastructure.
