Telenor implements Multi-Country Ring Back Tone Solution from the European Computer Telecoms Group

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 16, 2007 -- Munich, March 15th 2007 � Telenor, one of Europe�s leading carriers, has launched Telenor�s Ring Back Tone Service �Ventetoner� based on the technology of the European Computer Telecoms Group (ECT).

In order to minimize the organizational resources for administration, Telenor is using the interfaces available with the ECT solution to outsource all marketing and provisioning to multiple content providers.
ECT provided the complete solution within 16 weeks from order to final acceptance.

The Ring Back Tone service will have WAP and SMS user interfaces for each country in its own language and currency as well as its own country-specific content. ECT�s technology enables Telenor to sell ring back tones to its subscribers via numerous content providers. Market penetration of the service increases significantly when multiple content providers sell ring back tones directly on their portals.

Background information on the ECT Ring Back Tone Application.

The traditional ring back tone is the tone heard by someone who calls your telephone number. The ECT Ring Back Tone Application allows subscribers to replace this standard tone with a personalised sound file. The subscriber can assign different ring back tones to different callers or group of callers, even dependent upon the date, weekday and/or time. The personalised ring back tone can be a pop song purchased over a portal, a corporate advertisement, a joke, etc.
