[Washington, D.C. – March, 2007] – The newly renovated M Street Hotel in Washington, D.C., soon to be branded a Renaissance Hotel, has been upgraded from a three- to four-star property by online travel portal, Travelocity. The 355-room Washington D.C. hotel, located at the corner of M Street and New Hampshire Avenue, has undergone a total redesign of its guest rooms, meeting space, lobby, restaurant and bar as part of a $25.2 million investment.
“We are honored by Travelocity’s recognition of the hotel’s emphasis on design, style and guest amenities by upgrading us to four-stars.” said Thom Puccio, Director of Sales & Marketing at the D.C hotel. “The improvements to overall guest experience and satisfaction are a reflection of the hotel’s affiliation with the Renaissance brand.”
On its website, Travelocity describes a four-star property as “an above average hotel with some outstanding features and a broad range of services; may have a special focus on design, style and amenities. Guest rooms and public areas are tastefully furnished, very comfortable, striving to meet the needs of business and leisure guests.”
In 2008 the downtown Washington D.C hotel is planning further growth that will incorporate two new guest room floors and a rooftop pool. The new Renaissance M Street will celebrate its Grand Opening in June 2007.
