March 18, 2007 (Press Release) -- Which celebrities put their money where their politics are? Maybe it's not a question you've ever asked yourself. Certainly not out loud. But the next time things are slow at work, do yourself a favor and spend some time at www.newsmeat.com. This hyper-informational Web site tracks individual political donations of $200 or more since 1978.

Or maybe she's considered "progressive." At any rate, she's donated $300 to the Republican National Committee.
That Rosie O'Donnell follows Illinois politics; last year alone she donated $3,100 to Tammy Duckworth and $2,100 to Melissa Bean.

That Prince has made just one political donation: He gave $1,000 to Republican Rudy Boschwitz, a Minnesota Senate candidate in 1990.
That Michael Douglas has donated a total of $536,750 since 1978 and may be writing another check right now.
That Whitney Houston's only political donation was to Bill Bradley in 1990 for $789.

That in 1985, Ted McGinley gave $500 to the campaign of Fred Grandy -- his fellow "Love Boat" alumnus!
We should hasten to say that, yes -- by and large, Hollywood appears to vote Democrat. It's probably no coincidence that Al Gore was feeling the love at the 2007 Oscars.

This is a highly selective listing. Many of the celebrities mentioned have made other donations as well. The candidates highlighted have other stars in their camps, too.
FLUFF is just trying to do its humble part in getting you involved in the political process, by whatever means necessary. We try to be bipartisan.
But we have to admit that we'd love to see George Clooney's dad in the White House. Or even Ben Affleck, for that matter.

Hillary Rodham Clinton
The junior senator from New York has plenty of White House experience.
