Schneiderman & Associates, LLC, developers of EbookoMatic, The Instant Online Ebook Publisher, today announced the release of a new ebook entitled The Mysteries and Magic of Finnish written by Arja and Thomas Eastland.
"We are very excited to be offering this new ebook written by Arja and Thomas Eastland, and we feel The Mysteries and Magic of Finnish will become a very popular title in the Instructional section of our online ebook catalog," said Steven Schneiderman, founder of EbookoMatic.
"With talent, experience, and a unique voice, we are confident that Arja and Thomas Eastland will come to be highly regarded within the ebook publishing world. We are very proud to have this author as a member of our growing online community of writers."
The Mysteries and Magic of Finnish is written by the Eastlands, a Finnish-English speaking couple, who have recognized the difficulties faced by an English speaker trying to learn Finnish. Thomas Eastland has broken down the language’s grammar system to its roots and shows the reader in simple steps how to master the language. Says Thomas, "We've finally 'cracked the code' of the Finnish language. We have shied away from grammatical language used by linguists and language teachers and believe it is better to learn some things rather than give up in frustration trying to learn them all."
The Eastlands share the key differences between Finnish and English, and how these differences affect one’s ability to learn and use the new language. Throughout the ebook, the authors have included a number of tips to lighten the student’s load, by illustrating key distinctions, cultural notes, etc. outside the context of the usual handbook text. All in all, the book is an easy and very interesting read for any English speaker who wants to learn Finnish, or just become more familiar with this interesting language.
Thomas Eastland was born in Pennsylvania, and graduated from Penn State and MIT. He has worked as a Marine aviator, an Operations Manager on the Atlantic and Pacific Missile Ranges, a NASA Test Controller and Operations Manager, and a consultant and teacher for the Canadian Space Agency. His wife and co-author, Arja (Miettinen), was born in Imatra, Finland, and emigrated to Montreal, where she worked as a hair stylist and sales representative for ladies wear, and then gourmet coffee and macadamia nuts. They later moved to Hawaii where they owned and operated a coffee farm and vacation rental, and finally migrated to Finland, where their book was born.
