(Free-Press-Release.com) March 26, 2007 --
Earth Day is now a worldwide event. In fact it may be the only event celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths, and nationalities.
There is an organization named Earth Day Network (EDN) that was founded by the organizers of the very first Earth Day in 1970. According to their website, the organization promotes environmental citizenship and year round progressive action worldwide.

http://zerbster.com/EarthDayCleanerKit.htm My research found that the idea for Earth Day was born in 1962 right here in the United States. Over the next seven years, Senator Gaylord Nelson, the founder of Earth Day, developed the concept along with support from President Kennedy and others. They were not content with the fact that the state of the environment was a non-issue in our country’s politics, and this very fact would demand a lot of hard work and perseverance to take the idea to reality. In 1969, the large reach of the anti-Vietnam War demonstrations actually gave Nelson the idea to organize a huge grassroots protest over what was happening in our environment. It was his hope that the environmental issues would generate a great deal of attention, and once announced it did just that – from coast to coast.
Zerbee has proposed an Earth Day Project where for a small donation of as little as $ .50 or $1.00 from all of its families, an environmentally friendly Cleaner Kit can be purchased for use at the day care center, school, or in a home. There are multiple environmental benefits recognized for this purchase. Each Cleaner Kit is the environmental equivalent to eliminating 108 pounds of packaging waste from landfills, eliminating 248 pounds of greenhouse gas, and planting 10 trees. Zerbee states, “If you multiply these numbers by 1000 Cleaner Kits or even 10,000, these are very big contributions to our environment. Plus safe cleaning, that is free of harmful toxins and chemicals, will help make the children and adults breathe a cleaner inside environment.”
The opportunity allows organizations to combine resources and make a measurable contribution that will last well beyond Earth Day itself. This is significant because as important an event as Earth Day is, there is a need for the efforts to continue throughout the year to make major impacts on a cleaner, safer environment. For day care centers and schools that do not have a 2007 Earth Day project planned, this project can be quickly organized giving every establishment in the country a chance to participate in Earth Day.
The Earth Day Network states that their organization is committed to expanding the definition of “environment” to include all issues that affect our health, our communities and our environment, such as air and water pollution, deteriorating schools, and rising rates of asthma and cancer. The manufacturer of the Cleaner Kit has provided this same innovative environmental leadership for more than 50 years, and is the nation’s first Climate Neutral Certified company. It has zero impact on global warming by offsetting 100% of its greenhouse gas emissions. “It would be a great benefit for all organizations to get to know this company and its products.” said Zerbee.
Just as the Earth Day Network uses innovative education tools and community projects to promote civic participation and develop a sense of environmental responsibility among young people, the company behind the Cleaner Kits has established a tradition of combining sponsorship of environmental projects with educational opportunities for both children and adults alike. Currently there is an arctic expedition for a global warming project that the company is sponsoring, and the public is invited to track this project through Live updates at http://globalwarming101.com.
Details of the Earth Day Cleaner Kit project can be found at the project website, link provided here. On that site there may also be found information on the Cleaner Kit and links to supporting documents.
