2007 Plane Pull� to Benefit Special Olympics North Carolina

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 30, 2007 -- Raleigh, N.C. --- The 2007 Plane Pull� presented by Credit Suisse and sponsored by American Airlines/American Eagle to benefit Special Olympics North Carolina will take place on April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the UPS tarmac at the Raleigh/Durham Airport according to Special Olympics North Carolina President/CEO Keith L. Fishburne.

�Teams from the community and law enforcement agencies will come together to flex their muscles for the eighth straight year in this fun team building event,� Fishburne said. �The strength of this community�s support of our state�s 38,000 Special Olympics athletes really shines through during this unique event.�

The 2007 Plane Pull� features a contest between five-person teams to see who can pull a 40,000 pound American Eagle jet the fastest. There will also be great prizes awarded to the best T-shirt design and for most pledges raised by an individual and team. The minimum donation for a team to enter the competition is $750. Teams can raise funds towards their donation by creating a personal fundraising Web page at www.firstgiving.com/sonc. Special Olympics North Carolina offers year-round sports training and competition for more than 38,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
