April 4, 2007 (Press Release) --
BALTIMORE, MD (March 2, 2007) – Zing!, makers of charmingly illustrated greeting cards for a diverse audience and unique handcrafted home accessories, today announced the addition of two new cards — a nun who dances an Irish jig and a flirty bar patron — on its Web site www.zingthings.com.
"The hip and fun-loving nun has always been a very popular card series, so we thought she'd be the perfect representative for St. Patrick's Day," said Sutisa Mullinix, the card's designer and a co-founder of Zing.
The new card features a nun with a shamrock necklace doing an Irish jig. The inside reads: "Get your jig on!" Other nun cards include a funky nun with arms crossed which reads "You da bomb," a birthday nun with arms raised Arsenio Hall style (inside reads: "Raise the roof"), a farting nun (inside: Oops, my bad!) and a "What up, sista?" nun.
The second St. Patrick’s Day card features a flirty winking Irish bar patron of the "How you doin'?" variety. He wears a "Get Lucky" shirt and the inside reads: "This could be your lucky day!"
These are the first cards designed by Zing for St. Patrick's Day. Zing offers holiday cards for Mother's Day, Father's Day, the holiday season, Valentine's Day and New Year's Day, in addition to cards for birthdays, events and occasions, the gay and lesbian community, and much more.
Its Web site offers more than 100 items ranging from funky jewelry holders and whimsical angel plaques to sweet and sometimes saucy greeting cards featuring a host of characters, including lively drawn cowboys, nuns and pirates. Zing! was founded in 2001 by two friends, Dawn Campbell and Sutisa Mullinix, who are self-trained craft artists, woodworkers, illustrators and humorists from Baltimore, Maryland.
