April 5, 2007 (Press Release) --
GARWOOD, NJ- On Saturday, April 14th at 7 PM, Internet music magazine Let’s Rock America will sponsor Chip-Fest – an event to celebrate the life of New Jersey musician Bob "Chip" Chipak – at The Crossroads, 78 North Avenue in Garwood, NJ.
Chipak, who recently succumbed to cancer, was a founding member and drummer for the NJ-based Bruce Springsteen tribute band, called “The B-Street Band”. The band, known as “The World's Longest Running Tribute Band”, has played in venues worldwide for over 20 years.
The concept for this event was brought to Let’s Rock America attention by Chip’s longtime friend Evlio Nardi, front man of the Bon Jovi tribute band, Runaway.
Proceeds from the concert, which features four New Jersey based tribute bands, will be donated to the Chipak family.
The benefit concert will feature, in order of appearance:
 acoustic songs by Robert Strange
 Another State of Mind, a Social Distortion tribute band
 Adrenalize, a Def Leppard tribute band
 The 80’s rock tribute act, The 80's Invasion
 Bon Jovi tribute band, Runaway
During the concert, raffle tickets will be sold for "between set" giveaways. There will be a special raffle for a guitar donated by T.T. of “The 80’s Invasion” and signed by famous vocalist, Joe Lynn Turner of the band “Rainbow”. After Turner joined Rainbow, the group experienced their greatest commercial success with hit singles “Stone Cold” and “Street of Dreams”.
“Originally this concert was supposed to help pay for Chip's cancer treatments”, said Rich Kubicz of the popular internet webzine Let’s Rock America and emcee for this benefit concert. “We were all shocked by Chip’s passing only a few weeks before the event.” Let’s Rock America’s founder, Joe DiBlasi added “rather than cancel the show, we decided to offer all proceeds from the event to Chip’s family to help them during this difficult time.”
