MEMPHIS, TN (April 10, 2007) -- MemphisRap.com conducts the first exclusive interview with rapper Playa Fly at Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN. The interview covered a broad range of topics, including: Playa Fly's most recent project "Mafia All Day", his new artists under his label Minnie Mae Muzik, his personal life and a response to the question of his relationship with former group members of Three 6 Mafia. Playa Fly also addressed his views on the Memphis Rap scene. "I don't believe there is a such thing as the Memphis Rap game," says Playa Fly. "I believe rap is an universal code of communication through music, through people, through all sorts of creeds, colors, languages and areas outside of Memphis and not just Memphis alone. There are plenty of artists from Memphis that make music that people hear all around the world. To label it as Memphis Rap scene is an understatement for the movement that we made down here," Playa Fly tells MemphisRap.com.
As Playa Fly sits with host Deanna Brown of MemphisRap.com, you can tell that the rapper is truly a man passionate about his work and craft. In this exclusive in depth interview with Deanna Brown fans get the opportunity to see a side of Playa Fly never before seen as the rapper and Brown discuss untouched subjects as Fly holds nothing back.
"I never did get finished with what I started doing in the beginning. My goal was just to represent my side of town...," Playa Fly says in regards to his past incarceration.
Within the exclusive video interview, Fly also brings along his fans on a journey with him as they get the opportunity to see "The Captain," as he refers to himself in the video interview, in a memorable moment in video as Playa Fly bursts into a mind captivating freestyle.
Battling with going back and forth to prison for the last couple of years due to legal troubles stemming from possession of narcotics and other miscellaneous charges dating back to 2000, the rapper began life changes and immediately began working on his unfinished project "Mafia All Day" after being released from prison in June 2006. As one of the most influential underground rappers in the South, Playa Fly is known for making classic nationwide album releases such as "Movin On" in 1996, "Just Gettin It On" in 1999, "Da Game Owe Me" in 1999 and "Fly2k" in 2002.
