April 13, 2007 (Press Release) --
No Child Left Behind Act Is Not Enough
Schools Need The IBank Assessment Program
On January 8, 2002 President Bush signed the No Child Left Behind Act. Its goal: to make sure no child graduates from high school without having the education necessary to succeed in life. Under the No Child Left Behind Act schools are given federal grants to fund programs designed to improve the quality of education students receive. Unfortunately, the Act offers schools little help when it comes to accessing whats wrong, what needs to be fixed, and how to go about implementing those changes.
If our education system is really going to change, we need to put less emphasis on standardized test scores and more emphasis on what our students are retaining and where they need help, says Kyle Bearly of Explore Digital Education Inc.
Ive been involved in education for nearly 20 years and I can assure you test scores dont give the true picture. Many students cram for a test then forget what theyve learned a week later. With Explore Digital Educations new program, The IBank, educators can determine where their teaching skills are lacking, what students are retaining, what area(s) students are struggling in, and where improvements are needed.
Having worked with educators across America and throughout the world, the company has developed a software program that allows educators the opportunity to provide individual assessments and surveys based on individual schools, school districts, counties, state programs, and even student objectives.
By providing the opportunity to write their own assessments and surveys, educators are given the opportunity to go beyond standardized test scores and really discover whats going on in their schools and with their students. The results of these assessments and surveys give educators the information they need to make informed decisions which may (or may not) result in program changes, courses offered, tutoring sessions, and after-school programsall of which results in a better education for students everywhere.
