FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THE DREAM FOR A BASSET HOUND SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER RECEIVES NATIONAL ATTENTION!
(BaRNI at Daphneyland, Acton, California) -
Last week, one of our volunteers Devon, was a contestant on the very short lived television reality show "The Great American Dream Vote" with host Donny Osmond. Devon is dreaming along with all of our volunteers of a senior center for our aging basset hounds. Our Dream still lives on and we are networking like crazy to get the attention of the Nation. Our Firstgiving page is receiving donations from many animal lovers who hold a special place in their hearts for aging pets. The address is http://www.firstgiving.com/DevonsDream video of
Devon and the senior hounds who hold her heart can be found on You Tube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxezKFIZr3U
Our Dream is to be able to build and maintain a Senior Basset Hound Rescue and Sanctuary - specifically for the older hounds to live in comfort while they await adoption through BaRNI - Basset Rescue Network. A non profit organization. www.bassetrescuenetwork.org
A yearly average of senior basset hounds requiring rescue through our shelter systems and owner relinquishment programs are well over 200 annually - this dream would result in not only saving the lives of senior hounds, but also in alleviating the shelter systems of the financial burden of handling older hounds who rarely have tha advantage of adoption thru a shelter system. A sanctuary environment for this very social breed allows for those special senior adoptive homes to give a wonderful life to an aging hound.
Youth programs and special educational seminars about Basset Hounds and their care are additional programs offered through BaRNI.
Devon Smith is available for press opoortunities and interviews regarding all aspects of basset rescue and the milestones and acheivements this program brings.
Please contact Devon Smith for interview /appearance opportunities:
