April 14, 2007 (Press Release) --
In Korea there are lots of factories and enterprises to which the leader Kim Jong Il gave on-site guidance. The Pyongyang Textile Machine Factory located in the area of east Pyongyang is one of them.
In April Juche 50 (1961), the leader Kim Jong Il who was attending
Kim Il Sung University, went to the factory for production practice and set a good example for the good maintenance of machinery while operating lathe No. 26.
The workers of the factory, following his example, launched the movement for emulating lathe No. 26.
Later, the movement became a mass one titled “the model machine movement of loyalty for emulating lathe No. 26”, and the factory came to be known to the whole country.
In previous days, the management and workers of the factory, full of pride in working in the place associated with the leader Kim Jong Il’s achievement, did their best to establish the cultured ways in production and life.
In keeping with the developing reality, they actively introduced many scientific and technical successes in production and thus increased the production of textile machinery.
And they refurbished the front gate, production buildings, cultural and welfare facilities and the compound road on modern lines.
Now the factory is putting great efforts in the work to introduce the latest science and technology in the overall machinery and processes of production as required by the information industry era.
It installed the planer-type centring machine, circular grinding machine and vertical centring machine and other equipment to make various textile machinery.
Recently the management including manager Hwang Kil Chol and workers created a base to produce new weaving machines, and are striving to produce weaving machines of high performance.
They boosted the production of the frames of weaving machines and crossbars by transforming the material production process into a square one and finished the manufacture of the main shaft assembly jig, the heart of the production of weaving machines, thus normalizing production. And they are introducing in production the successes of technical innovation such as a computer-based automatic temperature control device for the heat treatment that makes it possible to confirm the rational time of heating various materials and improve the quality of products.
Today, a lot of people are visiting the factory, the base of the model machine movement of loyalty for emulating lathe No. 26, to learn from its experience in establishing the cultured ways in production and life.
For the achievements in implementing the state’s policy of textile industry, the factory was awarded
Kim Il Sung Order, the title of Twice Three Revolution Red Flag Factory and “Lathe No. 26” Model Factory Prize and many other honourable titles.
