Author Cites "Rookie Radio" As Reason for New Book
New book takes legwork out of matching guest to radio host.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 14, 2007 --
“Radio stations rarely provide the themes of their shows or whether guests are welcome,” says Francine Silverman, author of Talk Radio for Authors – Getting Interviews Across the U.S. and Canada. “Radio directories tend to ignore Internet radio and are sorely lacking in solid information.” She calls this phenomenon “rookie radio.”
The new book takes the guesswork out of a radio search and helps readers choose the right radio program to contact. While geared toward authors, the book is a valuable resource for anyone seeking air-time. Both Internet and terrestrial shows are featured.
“Here’s a talk radio niche that’s often overlooked, but no longer,” says Jim Bohannon, host of The Jim Bohannon Show. “Not after Francine gives us ‘Talk Radio for Authors.’” The book features 230 shows, divided into 40 categories, ranging from Addiction to Women. Each contains the theme, guest criteria, email address, website, and where aired. Host bios and their opinions of the best and worst guests give the book an intimacy lacking in listings.
To celebrate the publication, a book launch party will be held April 17, 2007, 5 to 8 p.m. at Good News Broadcast studios, 126 Fifth Avenue, Suite 3D (between. 17th and 18th Streets), in Manhattan. The party will be broadcast live and interviews conducted.
