The Alexandre Turpault factory, founded in 1847, is the largest and oldest textile firm in the historic Loire Valley, producing luscious table, bed and bath linens with a contemporary sensibility in 100% linen, linen-cotton blends, and Egyptian cotton. More than any other fabric, linen has a natural feel. Although linen wrinkles more than cotton (Europeans, however, don’t seem to mind), its positive qualities are hard to match. Because linen fibers have a parallel arrangement, they produce an extremely sturdy cloth which is color fast, and only becomes softer with repeated use.
