April 17, 2007 (Press Release) --
On March 9, 2007, Toca Family Communications Group acquired the assets of EBCR, LLC which published Equal Business Construction Review for an undisclosed amount. Equal Business Construction Review has been an Atlanta metropolitan area staple since 2003.
The acquisition will provide the paper, recently renamed Equal Construction Record, with additional resources – personnel, financial, and marketing – to expand the paper further into the Atlanta metro construction community and beyond into the state of Georgia. Under the new ownership, the Equal Construction Record will add ancillary information services that serve both small and large construction firms. In addition, the Company intends to expand the Paper’s presence into other southeastern markets experiencing an Atlanta-like construction boom over the coming months and years.
“Bob Story created the newspaper to address an underserved need in the Atlanta construction community. He successfully started and built a construction trade paper that serves both the needs of the greater construction community yet provides a forum to promote and encourage significant participation of minority-owned and women-owned businesses in construction and development,” said Tiffany Wright, president of Toca Family Communications Group. “We are extremely happy that Bob will remain with us as our Vice President of Sales. We all look forward to working together to make the paper a community-focused establishment here in Atlanta, then later in other regional markets.”
