Weymouth, MA—European Flower Company will distribute a free gift wrapped rose to all secretaries, administrative assistants, office coordinators who visit the shop on Friday April 27.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 18, 2007 -- Administrative Professionals Week was founded in 1952 as “National Secretaries Week” by the National Secretaries Association in an effort to recognize secretaries for their workplace contributions and to attract people to careers in the secretarial field. In 2000, the name was changed to Administrative Professionals Week.

According to a poll conducted on the website of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, 11.8% of participants reported that Administrative Professionals Week is not observed at their company. 36.9% of the respondents reported that the holiday is observed through optional recognition by individual departments or managers.

Mary Barton, co-owner of European Flower Company, said, “Many administrative employees receive no recognition on this holiday. We wanted to thank everyone who works hard in the offices and who were not remembered on this holiday. As a florist, I know what a difference it makes to have flowers be a part of my life. This is our chance to share the experience with others during a special recognition week”.

“Texas A&M University discovered the impact of flowers and plants in the workplace during an eight month study. They found that the presence of flowers and plants stimulated innovative thinking resulting in more ideas and better problem solving. Flowers belong in the workplace everyday, not just on special weeks” said Barton.

Administrative Professionals Week runs from April 23- April 27, 2007. Wednesday April 25 is considered Administrative Professionals Day.

European Flower Company, a full service florist specializing in affordable upscale floral designs, opened in December of 2006. It is owned and operated by local Weymouth residents Steven and Mary Barton. European Flower Company is located at 1284 Washington Street in Weymouth MA.
