FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 20, 2007 -- Wilmington, NC; Independent bookstore, Pomegranate Books at 4418 Park Avenue in Wilmington will host a panel discussion on "How To Get Published" on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 1:00 PM. A Q&A and book signing by the authors will follow the discussion. There is no cost to attend.

Stacey Cochran, NC State professor, coordinator of the Write To Publish Group and author of the powerful suspense novel The Colorado Sequence will moderate the discussion featuring authors Jon Batson, (action- adventure novel The Rands Conspiracy), K. Robert Campbell, (suspense thriller The Fifth Category) and one representative from Lulu Press.

Independent bookstores like Pomegranate have historically supported and cultivated the work of independent authors and poets.

Jon Batson, (JonBatson.com) The Rands Conspiracy author, a Who's Who in America and Who’s Who in the World listee is a familiar name to many Wilmington readers. He won first place in the 2006 Cape Fear Historical Society’s Annual Short Story Contest with “Gaston’s Last Run” and second place in 2005 with “Powder Monkey of Cape Fear”; both stories were printed by the Encore Magazine.

Jon publishes his books through Lulu Press, a producer of print-on-demand books in Morrisville, NC, because, “Lulu makes it easy for me. They don't charge up-front fees and I retain control of my content and especially my copyrights; which as a songwriter I know is important.”

Southport attorney and author K. Robert Campbell (www.AuthorCampbell.com) has scripted several productions, including "Radio Play", a comedy in two acts, first performed by Stage II Productions in 2005; and "Teache's Revenge", a closed-circuit radio drama. Ken says, “The Fifth Category is my first novel, but not my last.”

Pomegranate’s owner, Kathleen Jewel opened the store in November, 2005. “We are a progressive, independent bookstore run by avid readers.” Due to the great selection of books, variety of readings, events, discussion groups and workshops, Pomegranate Books was recently voted Wilmington's #2 Best Bookstore in Encore's 'Best of Wilmington'!
