Fulton County Arts Council's Art At Work presents "Confetti", an exhibit opening, reception, and silent auction. The exhibit will feature fused glass accessories handcrafted by local teen artists.

Fulton County Arts Council invites you to the
May 18th opening of “Confetti,” a culminating exhibit, silent auction and reception celebrating its Art At Work (AAW) youth program. This exhibit features fused glass office and desk accessories crafted by teen apprentice artists, ages 14-16.
“We love fused glass projects,” says Tae Earl Jackson, AAW program coordinator. “They offer our youth a challenge, one they’ve met with creativity and ingenuity.”
Show items will include fused glass decorated magnetic clips, drop-ring floral vases and bowls, pen and business card holders, and more. These young talents filter their energy to create beautiful glasswork that offers artistic flare in color selection and design.
Art At Work originated as a Fulton County summer teen program in 1995. It is now a year-round, after-school and summer arts education and job training program dedicated to providing unique opportunities for adolescent youth ages 14 to 16 to express their creativity through sequential art instruction.
The program is also a collaborative effort with Fulton County Juvenile Court to prevent adjudicated youth from returning to the juvenile justice system via more serious delinquent offenses. This partnership places urban youth on a path to lead successful lives.
Please join the Fulton County Arts Council, Fulton County Juvenile Court, glass art instructor Devanie Schilpp along with Art At Work participants and staff on Friday, May 18th, 2007, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Art At Work Gallery and Studio, 659 Auburn Avenue, Studioplex-Suite 252, Atlanta.
This exhibit runs May 18 – June 15, 2007. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. To make an appointment or get more information, please call (404)224-3454. Proceeds from all sales benefit future sessions of the program.
