April 23, 2007 (Press Release) --
According to the agreement companies has been set up carrier grade, IMS-based push-to-talk environment in Stockholm, Sweden. Service is based on WT's IMS and push-to-talk solution and is operated by SizeIT AB.
"Our customer's are excited to get a fully tested end-to-end solution both independent on customers' mobile network and supporting standards enabling
handsets from several manufacturers. WT's early involvement in Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) and proven skill and flexibility to support new handsets in the market made the selection of their IMS platform solution a strategic and natural choice in an earlier closed market." said Torbjorn Dahlstrom, VP Sales and Marketing, Pushtalk(TM).
"We are thrilled to work together with Pushtalk to implement first operator independent commercial, IMS-based push-to-talk service in Scandinavia," said Juha Kumpulainen, chief executive officer, WT. WT has been working hard to make its IMS platform compatible with existing, often NATed, IPv4-based mobile networks, and this is service is major milestone in this development."
