April 25, 2007 (Press Release) --
San Francisco, CA-- (April 25, 2007)--Being successful in the competitive indie music scene can be a hard thing to accomplish—however, Matt Lutz of The Herms has proved that he not only shine in a music group, but also excel as a solo artist.
After conquering the San Francisco indie music market with his band, The Herms, Lutz decided to break out on his own by releasing his first solo effort entitled, “Seesaw.” The album was developed while Lutz was on hiatus from the band – whose first full length album “Record Machine” has become an underground success. “Seesaw” contains eleven original songs written and produced by Lutz– a true showcase of his raw talent. In addition to Lutz’s sultry vocals, the album mixes an eclectic sound of folk rock, pop and alternative-- laced with unique instrumentations.
“I love being part of a band but I really wanted to see what it was like going solo on an album,” says Lutz. “So far the advance praise has been overwhelming and I look forward to playing in the Los Angeles music scene later this year.”
In addition to the band, a brand new solo album, and touring, Lutz also took the time to write the score for a recent Planned Parenthood Public Service Announcement campaign that aired on MTV networks.
Lutz currently has upcoming shows scheduled in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas throughout 2007. Please check his Myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/mattlutz1 for more details.
