Fleck Wins Artist Proof
Twentynine Palms – Action Council for 29 Palms is proud to announce, local resident and Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce member, Gunnery Sgt. Rob Fleck won the drawing for a Battle of the Bell artist proof mural print at last week’s mixer, which was held at the Desert Trail Newspaper office.
Fleck will be able to pick up his artist proof at Bowden Frame shop, which is located at 73487 29 Palms Hwy, downtown Twentynine Palms. Dana Bowden has graciously offered to sale and carry out the distribution of all Battle of the Bell mural prints.
Fleck, won one of only ten such prints, which will be printed after the completion of the current fundraising for Octobers Battle of the Bell mural. Action Council for 29 Palms normally archives artist proof mural prints for the future, so Fleck’s winning of the artist proof for the Battle of the Bell mural is indeed a rare opportunity, Chairman Ray Kinsman noted.
Action Council for 29 Palms has been working with Twentynine Palms Kiwanis for the past year to honor this annual Kiwanian football game between Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley high schools. As intended, ever since the game’s inception, the annual Kiwanis Battle of the Bell football game has promoted friendly sportsmanship between these two high schools.
Action Council for 29 Palms, in cooperation with Twentynine Palms Kiwanis, is happy to honor this annual Kiwanian event with a mural in a day project. Twentynine children from the Twentynine Palms high school will be selected to work with Master Artist Art Mortimer in October of 2007. The mural will be painted on the Twentynine Palms high school MPR building and is intended to be a constant reminder to the students of this important annual event.
