PRESS RELEASE
On March 24th Toni Washingtin former Correctional Officer for
the state of Pennsylvania, local performer and founder of
Healthy Music Matters an organization established to assist local
entertainers with regards to well being coordinated a Peace
Concert at Philafunk Live In Philadelphia which consisted of
volunteer performers from various genres. With violence on the
rise in Philadelphia Toni Washingtin along with Liz Fox of
Imaginary Life Productions decided to host a summer series of
events to work with the youth in Philadelphia on a variety of
shows exposing their many talents. The theme of the series
Youth For Peace will include ages 5-17 and every Philadelphia
youth is encouraged to audition. The auditions will be held at
Morris Estate Recreation Center at 1610 Chelten Ave. in
Philadelphia PA May 5, 12th & 19th from 1-3pm. The dates for
the shows are scheduled for June 2nd, July 7th, Aug. 4th and are
free to the public. In August a Peace song written by Ms.
Washingtin will be recorded featuring the children with the
proceeds going towards their education.
