Grand Opening of Expanded Carr, May 12 and 13; Gifts for the Garden of Your Life

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 1, 2007 -- BLUE ISLAND, Illinois -- A favorite of Southland residents for the past 12 years, Carr will celebrate the Grand Opening of its new and expanded store -- featuring an international selection of home decor, garden items and unique gifts -- on Saturday , May 12, and Sunday, May 13.

A larger showroom and an expanded line of selections has inspired a name change, too. "The loyal customers of Carr Gardens have been asking for more than the unusual garden items we are known for," says Candace Carr, partner with her husband Steve Carr in the popular Blue Island shop. "So along with our expansion, this is the right time for us to re-brand. Our new name reflects our broader appeal for home, garden and holiday shopping."

To celebrate this transformation, the public is welcome for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, on Saturday, May 12. at 2 p.m., which will be attended by Blue Island Mayor Donald Peloquin, and Ruth Sheahan, executive director of the Blue Island Chamber of Commerce. Following the ribbon-cutting, there will be live music, refreshments and drawings for prizes including some of Carr's most popular items.

On Sunday, the celebration continues.

In addition to the selection of charming garden and home decor items traditionally available at Carr, the store has added new sections including Gourmet Food, Bath & Body, Statuary, Newborns, and more. "We really enjoy finding items from all around the world that you just don't see in most stores," says Steve Carr. "Our customers can now select from an international inventory featuring imports from Australia, France, China, Canada, and Mexico.

Candace and Steve Carr have dedicated themselves to hunting down a fresh selection of interesting items each season. Premier brands in the store include:
