May 7, 2007 (Press Release) --
DUI CHARGES:
L.A. prosecutors are all over Eve
The rapper-actress was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above, and failure to provide proof of insurance, said a city attorney's spokesman. The charges stem from an April 26 arrest in which officers stopped Eve at 2:40 a.m. after her car struck a raised concrete center median on Hollywood Boulevard. Eve, 28, is scheduled to be arraigned May 17. She faces a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
WITH ED NORTON:
Hulk shows Liv some love in next movie
Liv Tyler will star opposite Ed Norton in ''The Incredible Hulk,'' signing on to play Betty Ross, the longtime love interest of Dr. Bruce Banner. Ross is Banner's fellow scientist and an ally in his quest to rid him of his lurking monster deep inside. Jennifer Connelly played the character in the 2003 movie ''Hulk,'' directed by Ang Lee. The new movie will open with the couple estranged, but with Banner on the run trying to cure his condition, Ross finds herself swept back into his life. Louis Leterrier ("The Transporter") is directing.
'IDOL' ON THE ROAD:
Sanjaya and friends sing here Aug. 7
The annual tour of "American Idol" finalists comes to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont on Aug. 7, promoters announced. Tickets will go on sale May 19, a few days before the May 23 announcement of the show's winner. The 10 singers start their tour July 6 in Sunrise, Fla.
What they find there is baffling, disappointing and unsettling. The miracle is it also sows their future with new hope.
Equal parts allegory, adventure story and rich meditation on existence, The Pesthouse imagines a place on the Dream Highway where the best in human nature always has a path.
Well, you guessed right. Human nature usually takes a dive in such dire circumstances. The couple's odyssey takes a wicked turn when murderous, slaving rustlers capture Franklin. Margaret, who is now accompanied by a small child separated from its parents, has to fend for herself.
Against this desperate backdrop, many of The Pesthouse's best passages are about the mundane activities of just getting by, of always worrying about hunger, cold and the intentions of others.
