The Delphian School Participates in 4th Annual Teen Maze at Linfield College

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 9, 2007 -- On Tuesday, April 24th, 2007, ten students from the Delphian School helped conduct the �Teen Maze� at Linfield College. �Teen Maze� is a collection of interactive booths provided by local high schools that presented issues that 8th grade students are faced with in their everyday lives. There were booths on peer pressure, saying �no� to sex, drug abuse awareness, etc. Delphi�s booth was on safe dating.

To convey their message, the students from the Delphian School put together a skit entitled �American Date,� a spoof of the television show �American Idol.� In the skit there were three girl contestants competing to win a date with the male contestant. When the students came into the booth, the Delphian students would explain what the booth was and what the skit was about, and then perform the skit. Two of the students from the audience were picked to come up and be guest judges.

After touring the maze of booths, each 8th grader was asked which booth was their favorite. Kristen Michael, one of the organizers of the event, said that a majority of the students said they liked the booth �where there were cute, funny boys and girls who made fun of �American Idol.��

Skylar Mundy, who led the Delphian School students in creating their booth, had this to say, �Overall, it was a great project, and we very much enjoyed having an active a part in it.�
