May 22, 2007 (Press Release) --
Loganville, Georgia based home builder Meridian Homes has recently been instrumental in assisting in the rebuilding process of four homes completely destroyed by fire in one of its sold out, active adult communities, Village Place. The four homes were completely destroyed by a brush fire on Sunday, March 11th. An additional six homes were also damaged in the blaze.
The homeowners were forced to move into apartment space provided by their insurance companies or to temporarily move in with family members. Amazingly, it was the homeowners themselves who suggested to their insurance companies that Meridian Homes should be the firm to rebuild their homes.
“They were already familiar with the quality and attention to detail they could expect from Meridian Homes and knew no company like the original builder who would be able to exactly replicate their floor plans,” said Eddie Stafford, the Meridian Homes agent who has worked closely with the displaced homeowners. He had served as Meridian’s on-site agent at Village Place before the community completely sold out.
The four properties had to be bull-dozed and Meridian Homes rebuilt them from the foundation up. Such a process would normally take 90-120 days, but the top 25 Atlanta builder completed the rebuild of all four homes in less than 60 days.
The homes will be complete and ready for move in on May 24th, the day Meridian Homes will hold a welcome home celebration for all the residents of Village Place. The event will take place at 10 a.m. and local politicians and the Loganville Fire Department have been invited to
attend. Meridian Homes will also present a special gift to the fire department to thank them for their heroic efforts on behalf of its Village Place residents. The celebration is appropriately timed as May is Older Americans Month.
“Loganville isn’t just a place that the Meridian Homes team works. It’s also where most of us grew up and still call home so it was important to us to help our neighbors,” said Meridian Homes President Darrell McWaters. “Getting these families back in their homes quickly was a top priority for us over the last couple of months.”
According to Darrell McWaters, it’s been a team effort all the way around. From the entire Meridian Homes staff to the concerted effort by Meridian’s suppliers and sub-contractors to be available at short notice for their part of the construction process, everyone came together to complete this project in record time.
