2007 CHARLES H. DOW AWARD
NEW YORK, May 22, 2007 - Buff Pelz Dormeier, CMT, First Vice President-Investments and PIM Portfolio Manager of Wachovia Securities, has been selected by the Market Technicians Association (MTA) to receive their 2007 Charles H. Dow Award. Buff Dormeier advises and manages portfolios for individual and institutional clients. Armed with his own proprietary indicators and investment programs, Buff specializes in helping investors in the selection of proper investments but in what is designed to be a timely, risk conscience manner.
Since 1994, the MTA has presented the Charles H. Dow Award for excellence and creativity in technical analysis. The papers honored with the Award have represented the richness and depth of technical analysis. The Charles H. Dow Award is the most important recognition in the field of technical analysis. For this year’s competition, the standards for judging a paper required accepted models of testing and robust research, and for the first time, a cash prize of $2,000 was given. A larger than usual number of papers was submitted to the judging panel.
“Buff joins a group of outstanding researchers and authors who have won the Charles H. Dow Award,” said George A. Schade, Jr., CMT, MTA’s Dow Award Committee Chair.
The award was presented Saturday, May 19th during the MTA’s Annual Education Seminar in New York City.
MTA Is Market Analysis Professionals’ Association in U.S.
The MTA, incorporated in 1973, is the national organization of market analysis professionals in the United States. This not-for-profit association’s main objectives involve educating the investment community and its membership in technical analysis. Total membership in the MTA is over 2,500.
