May 24, 2007 (Press Release) --
It all started when I relocated to Olive Hill, Kentucky, to be closer to my family…
Our little town is very peaceful and has civil war roots. Beyond that it is very much "Country Liv’in" (way different than living in New Smyrna Beach, Florida). So, it's not hard to become inspired by the local country, folk and primitive art forms.
I have always wanted a family business and I and Barbara have dabbled in various art forms for most of our lives. Barbara Tackett is a talented floral designer and pet portrait painter form Indiana. As for myself I have an AS degree in Graphics Technology (fancy for a graphic designer without a bachelors degree… whoopee). Naturally I love commercial art and I'm skilled at painting various art forms.
Essentially, an innocent hobby combined with a whole lot of love blossomed Daddy’s Wishes LLC. I and Barbara named our family business in dedication to the hardest working man in our lives, my father. One of his dreams was to have a familiy business, that he could have peace that his "girls" would be taken care of after he passed on.
We are dedicated to keeping the essence of the art form alive in our refreshing originals. We are passionate about our one-of-a-kind folk art treasures, holiday and home décor. It is our sincerest pleasure that our keepsakes will add extra warmth to someone’s home – as it does ours.
