Controversial sculptor and artist Delroy Lamb launches website

Having spent 7 years at Art school Delroy found studio space in Deptford to begin to produce some of his best work to date. A deeply religious man, Delroy likes to challenge homophobia head on and highlight the prejudice found in religious circles that gay people have to suffer.

The majority of his works have strong religious or homosexual connotations causing great debate whenever viewed. Being a gay man himself Delroy likes to expose the hypocrisy evident in religion and society at large in todays modern world!

Sculpturally Delroy works with organic forms, casting images like cabbages, lemons and tomatoes. His art is mainly pastel on cartridge paper which is easy to manipulate and has a very tactile appearance which Delroy loves. Currently Delroy works from Cockpit Studios in Deptford, continuing his passion to brake down barriers surrounding gay stereotypes. He is also looking for larger studio space in London.

Inspiration for his work is sought from artists of the 14th Century and the work of Wedgewood and their stylised figurative images giving beautiful movement and form. Further inspiration is drawn from Michelangelo�s masterpiece, the statue of David, a symbol of strength and youthful
human beauty. Having exhibited in prominent galleries such as the Brixton Gallery, Delroy is currently in negotiations with a central London gallery for an exhibition later in the year.
