--You're a person with plans. Big plans. You have people to see and a whole lot of things to do.
But if you're Attorney Andrew Speaker, you cannot go here, nor there, as doctors have you quarantined due to a mysterious form of tuberculosis.
"If I were in that situation I would want to hear as many voices of encouragement as possible," said Popular Weekend Radio Personality Roy Gray.
"You know what, Mr. Speaker may be long out of the hospital by the time I finish the audio card, but I just think the 'sound proof' of knowing many people were and are supporting you can, in my view, be a tremendous boost for any current or recent patient; and I hear people all over talking about this individual's plight," says Gray, adding, "I am reminded of this giant greeting card the public signed for singer Teddy Pendergrass when I worked as personality intern and receptionist--yes, receptionist-- at LA's 1580 KDAY.
"The postcard for Mr. Speaker will be all audio and I plan to have it in the hands of his representatives, who can decide the best way for him to hear the greetings, by July 18.
"I will respond to emails and arrange to record greetings from well-wishers via telephone, plus there will be some 'direct-to-mike' greetings."
Roy Gray is an independent voice-over artist. When you are watching an awards show and hear an announcement by someone you can't see, you are listening to a voice-over artist. Same goes for movies, commercials, news--even the high quality recorded announcements you hear when you contact a business by phone.
Gray is also a freelance radio reporter and is always looking for your help tracking down the following stories and more:
1. A medical doctor who has witnessed the impact her/his work has had on the community
2. A day in the life of a jazz musician or singer who wants to inspire the world
3. An examination of exceptional anti-violence programs
4. A profile of a person who seems to be always "there-for-you"
5. A profile of a super successful person who insists on remaining drug-free
6. Reports about your mentor
