Sentry Security Systems Inc released the Sentry LE-Lite Digital Video Recorder (DVR) on June 1, 2007. It supports from 1-8 security cameras and provides an extremely low cost, easy-to-use, highly reliable, excellent video quality surveillance solution for security dealers servicing smaller convenience stores, retail stores, fast food restaurants, and similar-sized businesses or facilities.
This Linux-based embedded DVR has no software on the hard drive to corrupt and cannot be attacked by viruses, providing maximum reliability. Operation can be accomplished using either an infrared remote controller (comparable to a TV or VCR), or by using a mouse and keyboard providing a comfortable “feel” for users with or without computer experience. In addition, these DVRs can be accessed remotely over the Internet or via a LAN. This ability to view live and/or recorded video from remote locations using a standard PC allows people to easily keep an eye on their premise(s) no matter where they are.
