Los Angeles, CA (June 6, 2007)— Summer So You Think You Can Dance reality TV star and award-winning choreographer Shane Sparks will be honored at Dance Camera West’s inaugural “Choreography Media Honors.” The event will be held at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood-- June 7, 2007. The new event was created as a tribute to choreographers for some of their most exciting international choreography on camera. Shane Sparks is nominated in two categories: So You Think You Can Dance’s routine, "Tranjie" and Corbin Bell’s music video, "Push It to the Limit.”
In the past, Sparks has received the industry’s prestigious “Best Choreography in a Feature Film” award for "You Got Served" at the 2004 American Choreography Awards as well as a 2005 BET Award for co-choreographing with Omarion. Although this is not one of Sparks’ first honors, he is still very pleased to be recognized for his work. Sparks shares, "Dance is my life; there is nothing I love doing more. I am thrilled to be honored at the ‘Choreography Media Honors.’ Dance Camera West is a fantastic organization and I am proud to be a part of it this year."

Shane Sparks is a renowned award-winning choreographer and on screen talent. He is largely recognized due to Fox's national hit TV show, So You Think You Can Dance-- a reality show where he sits on the panel of three judges and choreographs for the show. Sparks’ past projects include choreographing for A-list musical talents such as: Ak’sent, Lindsay Lohan, Marques Houston, Omarion, among many others.
This summer, Sparks will be taping So You Think You Can Dance while also producing and choreographing a feature film entitled, “Backdown” with Chris Stokes.
