June 7, 2007 (Press Release) --
Beverly Hills, CA- American Idol’s Jordin Sparks is not the only Arizona singer to rock the vote. 20-year-old Brittney Elizabeth is the winner of the Air God contest sponsored by www.airspun.com. She beat out three other performers in the record-breaking competition by getting close to 60% of some 9,000 votes that were cast. The battle for musical supremacy had her going note-to-note against three other musicians.
“Brittney pulled out the most votes yet for any AirSpun new music poll,” says Heidi Elgaard, the CEO of the San Mateo-based music and digital media marketing company.
"We're very excited to recognize the tremendous talent of Brittney and welcome her into the rank of AirGod (or Goddess!).
The 20-year-old is adjusting to her “air goddessness.”
“It was awesome to watch every day and see how many new people voted for me. I just thought it was my mom and dad who thought I was a goddess,” says Brittney with a smile. “I’m very thankful for everyone’s support and will do my best to make them proud.”
The critically-acclaimed performing and recording artist is currently on tour promoting her debut album, Breathe In, released by indie label, Desert Sunrise Records. Her musical style is a marriage of Lisa Loeb and Dashboard Confessional.
The gifted musician strings together a series of searingly honest and beautifully-written anthems for everyone who has wanted a do over when it comes to love.
Brittney has already performed everywhere from NYC’s Carnegie Hall to LA’s Knitting Factory.
Highlights of her career include performing at NAMM earlier this year where she met one of her inspirations and her American Idol, Lisa Loeb.
In addition to juggling gigs, love and heartbreak Brittney splits her time between her Arizona home and her Los Angeles apartment.
Critics have liked what they’ve heard. A sampling of what people are saying:
“..an appealing voice that sounds very commercial on thoughtful and well-constructed tunes.”
LA’s Music Connection
“Brittney Elizabeth… has a pretty voice; it kind of reminds me of Lisa Loeb.”
