West Palm Beach, FL.…May 4, 2007–Etienne Prophete, pastor and executive director of Eglise Chretienne Haitienne de Palm Beach/Haitian Christian Mission, Inc. has been named Cambridge Who’s Who Professional of the Year in spiritual services. While inclusion in Cambridge Who’s Who Registry is an honor, only one member in each discipline is named the Cambridge Who’s Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who’s Who selection committee hand picks these special honorees based on their accomplishments, academic achievement, leadership and service.
Prophete has been a pastor and executive director of the Haitian Christian Mission for 32 years. He is a gifted preacher and biblical and family counselor who strives to help those less fortunate. Haitian Christian Mission is a non-denominational Christian mission founded in 1974 under Etienne and his wife Betty’s leadership. The mission was designed to build up the whole person — body, mind and spirit. In 2005, the mission received more than $750,000 in contributions, 91% of which was sent to Haiti. Prophete holds a masters degree in linguistics and received his Ph.D. from Trinity Theological Seminary in 2005. He has held positions with Haitiian medical and literacy associations and speaks professionally at national and international conventions. Prophete is fluent in French, Haitian Creole, English and Spanish and has translated three books from the English language to French.
