Representatives of The Edcomm Group’s Banker's Academy participated in a dinner workshop sponsored by Marcus Evans at China Retail Banking 2007 in Shanghai. This was an opportunity for Chinese bankers to brainstorm on subjects including: financial training on everything from basic teller, platform, sales and service, and compliance, to lending, credit risk management, wealth management, private banking, retail banking and new methods to attract High Net Worth Clients (HNCs).

There were representatives from Bank of China, Commonwealth Bank Group, Citic Ka Wah Bank and Pudong Development Bank. The attendees from Edcomm's Banker's Academy were Dr. Linda Eagle, President, who led the discussion, along with Joseph Mellaci, Director of China Markets, and Shelleen Qian, Technology Services Manager.
Banking in China has dramatically changed over the past few years, and even more changes are on the way. With these changes come a need for more retail products and services and wealth management offerings. In order to meet the demand for these products and services, it is imperative that bankers in China have an understanding of market segmentation and risk management. Dr. Linda Eagle was pleased to give the representatives at the dinner meeting insight into these areas.

Dr. Linda Eagle, President of The Edcomm Group said, “I thoroughly enjoyed this dinner. I was thrilled to help the international bankers understand the balance between risk management and product development. It is the hope of The Edcomm Group that we may continue to help these banks become more sales and service oriented in the retail banking market in China.”
