June 13, 2007 (Press Release) --
Los Angeles, CA (June 11, 2007)— M. Loring Communications, LLC announced that Australian-based, acclaimed American author James Houston Turner has signed on for their services. Turner’s passion has always been writing, and his real break came with the publication of his potato cookbook, The Spud Book (St. Martin’s Press, New York), which saw him cooking potatoes for television audiences across America on behalf of French’s Foods, including appearances with celebrities Regis Philbin and Pat Boone.
After years of writing journalistically, Turner turned to writing fiction, being influenced by his travels as a courier behind the old Iron Curtain. His first novel, The Search for the Sword of St Peter (1996), and his espionage thriller, The Second Thirteen (JB Books, Australia), were the results of those experiences. The Second Thirteen earned him high praise as a writer-- and is currently optioned for film.
“After reading just a few chapters of James’ new thriller The Identity Factor, I was hooked. I already knew he was an extraordinarily imaginative writer, but the book was just incredible. I am excited to see what we can come up with this year for the 2008 launch of the novel,” shares Mona Loring, President of M. Loring Communications PR.
Based in part on research from his Master’s Degree at the University of Houston, The Identity Factor frames a powerful and timely “what if” scenario around the discovery of an ancient tablet written by the patriarch, Ishmael. Duplicating the seventh section of Genesis, the tablet makes a stunning declaration about the ownership of Palestine, which few have rightly understood, much less taken seriously. Turner then fuses scholarship with fiction to create a high-velocity thriller.
