June 15, 2007 (Press Release) --
ShoppingWords (www.shoppingwords.com) today announced the public beta launch of a hybrid collaborative shopping and social networking community. ShoppingWords is like a shopping diary, designed for shoppers to interact, find the best deals online and offline, share what they have and a lot more. But that's not all. Like MySpace, it's a place to meet friends too!
ShoppingWords (www.shoppingwords.com) features a shopping and a social profile for members. The shopping profile consists of the "things" or "shopping words" that members want to buy, have bought or have previously changed their minds in buying. It also shows all the posts, postcart contents, surveys and shop recommendations members have submitted. The social profile on the other hand displays members friends, photos, favorite shopping brands and preferred shopping places.
The Elements of ShoppingWords
Posts
Posting is the core of the ShoppingWords community. A post is something members want to say about their things, their shopping words. Posts would generally answer questions like:
1. Why do you want to buy that shopping word?
2. Where did you bought that shopping word?
3. Why did you change your mind in buying that shopping word?
4. How is your progress in getting that shopping word?
5. Where have you gone to in looking for that shopping word?
6. Which offline shops or online websites have you looked into thus far?
Photos
The image section is for members to upload and store cool pictures that they want to share with the shopping community.
PostCart
PostCart is a space for members to easily save or bookmark a post which might be interesting or of good use to them.
Surveys
Surveys are members answers to a general questionnaire whenever they add a "have bought" shopping word in their accounts. This is meant for other shoppers to know where that shopping word was bought and more importantly, if it is really worth buying that shopping word.
Recommendations
This is the placeholder for members online and offline shop recommendations. Whenever they find or stumble upon a good deal in their neighborhoods, favorite shopping malls in their cities or in any online shop, this is where they let the community know.
Notepad
Notepad is a private, for you section only that members can use to note down things that they do not want others to see. ShoppingWords is a community but having a small private space would not be that bad right?
Social Networking
ShoppingWords.com is a friendship and social networking site as well. The separate social activity profile is where members meet shopping friends, send comments and messages and tell other shoppers just a little bit more about them.
