Not everyone is aware of this, but there is a problem that the United States Marines and all the other branches of the military face daily.

The problem is so large that (upon occasion) it has made Fox or CNN News. It can be as devastating as a natural disaster and as loud (or louder) than the Space Shuttle landing.
This problem I speak about?
Mothers!
Everyone who serves in the military has one.
Even if it is not their biological mother, another mother will step up to the plate and claim one as her own. It’s become the new wave of how we are “supporting ‘our’ troops”. Even if they don’t want this support– they’re getting it.
Just ask the mother who got on a plane and flew to Iraq. She showed up at her son’s base and told his Sergeant that she wanted her son to come home, “NOW!” . (I would share her name, but as a mother I promised to keep her name secret since she has entered the “Witness Protection Program!” Then there was Cindy Sheehan who wanted everyone to go home and make nice, or Deborah Johns who tried to share, These Colors Don’t Run.
Then up pops Gina Gippner… a writer, and Jan Moon, soon-to-be videographer extraordinaire, who decided it was time to share the truth about what it is like to have a child serving in the military and the emotions “we” as parents go through.
"Onward By Faith" (A Mother’s Journey to Iraq and Back) and the accompanying video, "Your Dreams Became Our Marines", are exactly what the titles state. A mother gets up every morning and has to keep moving onward, and the only way to do that is to have “faith” that her child is coming home. And, we (as mothers), all dream our children will become the “greater” of what we were meant to be, and when they serve others… they do!
