United States of America (Press Release) June 23, 2007 --
THE TESTIMONY by Adriana Dardan, in a thoroughly revised and updated 2nd edition from Counterbalance Books, is a deep philosophical assessment of mans place in the Universe. After discussing the biological evolution of life on Earth, Dardan examines the evolution of mans thought in its individual manifestations and social contexts, from the earliest, primitive societies to the advanced societies of today.
In discussing the evolution of thought, Dardan shows how the earliest technological innovations provided man with the ability to ensure his basic biological needs for survival and procreation. Growing social groupings further secured the biological basis of man's life, while allowing the development of more abstract, complex thought.
As Dardan demonstrates, all societies, from primitive family groupings to twenty-first century nations, have been controlled by their strongest members, oppressive elites who wish only to enlarge their own power and wealth, with little consideration for the needs of individuals or the natural environment. Historically only the greatest thinkers have managed to break the shackles of society and continue the evolution of mans thought.
THE TESTIMONY does not provide a complete blueprint for individuals and societies to follow today and in the future. It does, however, clearly indicate the basic prerequisites of individual action and social organization for the continuing evolution of mans thought.
