July 3, 2007 (Press Release) --
Well, after years of research and contemplation, Chris Dufault think’s he’s found the ultimate travel solution. You might say he’s betting my professional reputation on it. Chris gave up a comfy office cubicle job for the realm of entrepreneurship. He calls his new company ‘Uncubed’ or UN3 in mathematic shorthand.
“Like most people, I enjoy getting out and seeing the country” Chris said. “I prefer those less traveled byways.” He said his travel style and family budget rules out air travel. Chris says “In order to get out frequently, it is important to find the right balance between convenience and costs.”
So the choices are hotels, RVs or tent camping. The pros and cons of each are well documented. RVs are comfortable, but expensive and can’t go everywhere. Tent camping is cheap and ‘outdoorsy’, but often uncomfortable, inconvenient, and dirty. Hotels are inconsistent and often expensive.
Chris’ solution combines the comfort and economy of the family car, the comfort of your own bed, with the outdoorsy go anywhere-ness of tent camping. He calls it the ‘Car Top Camper.’ This camper sits up out of the dirt on top of almost any rack-equipped vehicle. The camper sets up in about 2 minutes, and includes a built in comfortable mattress.
Chris said he puts two on the roof of our SUV to take the whole family; or one fits nicely on his subcompact Saturn ION for a quick weekend getaway for two. Gas mileage is minimally affected by a CarTopCamper. “Unlike with an RV, I can also drive a Camper equipped car through a Taco Bell, park in the city or visit friends and family without causing a neighborhood watch issue,” Chris said
Until now these car top campers have been the expensive toys of the safari set—often priced well over $2000 with options and shipping. But Chris secured a line of top quality campers that he’s introducing for just $999. This is a ‘third generation’ camper with all aluminum construction (no rot-prone wooden floor). In order to gain quick market share—Chris is cutting costs further with free shipping.
And, for as long as supplies last CarTopCamper is including a free changing room that installs under the tent floor—this is a $350 option on other safari car top campers. Also, included is a free ladder extension for tall vehicles, a free storm fly, a free mattress and a free travel cover.
