Police have charged 25-year-old Saul Dos Reis of Greenwich with enticing a minor to have sex, but as of now he has not been charged with her murder.
The News-Times of Danbury reported that Dos Reis told police he accidentally strangled the sixth-grader while they were having sex in his car.
Police say Long and Dos Reis had had sexual encounters before.
Police say the girl's parents both had substance abuse problems, and that she moved to Danbury two years ago to live with her aunt.
Long's father says he would "give anything to take that computer back." He tells the News-Times of Danbury that there was "no hint" of what she was doing with the computer.

Lawmakers used the death of Christina Long to urge passage of the bill.
Social worker Paul Kosowsky says Christina Long's webpage is a sign of the times.
Kosowsky says teenagers in this day and age have a lot more information to sort through than their parents did and the sorting process can be confusing.
"Whether it's the record industry, the tv industry, the movie industry, and the internet where they have access to information," says Kosowsky. "You're bound to have some kids who make poor decisions just because they're not experienced enough in the world to know how to make a really good choice for themselves."
Investigators say 25-year-old Saul dos Reis of Greenwich met 13-year-old Christina Long from Danbury over the internet and later strangled the teenager during during rough sex with her.
However, excerpts from Long's webpage reveal that the girl may have unknowingly invited the trouble that ultimately ended her life.
Along with a picture where she looks older than 13, lines like, "i am very outgoing, i will do anything at least once", and, "maybe if i get to talk to ya you can here more about my dead sexy self."
Kosowsky says issues of sexuality are often on the forefront for teens who are trying to figure out who they are, however, on the internet, Kosowsky adds the mixed messages often fall into the wrong hands.
Kosowsky says,"There are so many people out there who are looking for vulnerable kids. Someone who wants to find a kid is not gonna have trouble finding them because kids send out exactly those messages that you spoke about saying, "I'm desperate, I'm lonely, I need someone to take care of me and they see that person as an easy target."
Paul Kosowsky from the New Haven Youth Continuum reminds parents to talk to your teens every day. He says that's the best way to know what they're doing and best way to know when they need help.
