July 5, 2007 (Press Release) --
Tampa, FL July 2007 – “Scar”. That is the last word of the last book in the epic Harry Potter series. For ten years we have followed Harry and the gang through mischief, danger, and puberty, but our journey together is about to end with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) rapidly approaching. Luckily, La Casa Dolce Cafe is using a Pensieve (a magical memory holder) and hosting a Harry Potter event that will take fans through their favorite memories. On July 21 and 28 this free event will include readings from the Harry Potter books and a movie marathon of the Harry Potter films. Limited edition Harry Potter art and even Harry Potter themed gelato will be available for purchase.
The event is from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21 and Saturday, July 28. La Casa Dolce, which translates as “The Sweet House”, is serving Harry Potter inspired gelato such as Pumpkin Juice, Chocolate Frog, Cockroach Cluster, and Strawberry Peanut Butter. While savoring those magical delights, you can sit down and listen to our local Madam Pince (Hogwart’s loveable librarian) read excerpts from the Harry Potter series, glance at world famous images of the hero, or even watch the Harry Potter films!
“What’s great about this event is that a portion of the proceeds from the gelato and art sales goes to Friends of the Library,” said Dell Dahl, Chief Executive Officer of La Casa Dolce Café. “I think it’s fitting to donate to a charity concerned with improving libraries since the Harry Potter books got children excited to read again.”
With gelato that would make Florean Fortescue (the ice cream store owner in magical Diagon Alley) proud and an exhibit of art created by the series illustrator, Mary GrandPre, and the Warner Brother artist for the films, Jim Salvati, La Casa Dolce provides a magical experience for fans of all ages.
For those unfamiliar with gelato, it is Italian for ice cream, but this version of ice cream is made with less than half the fat of the traditional kind. All the gelatos and sorbets at La Casa Dolce Café are made on site using only the freshest seasonal fruits, nuts and chocolates.
To view the complete menu, peruse the monthly events calendar or join the email list, log onto: www.lacasadolcecafe.com.
Can’t make it to the event? The limited edition Harry Potter Art Exhibit will be on display at Nuance Galleries through August 31, 2007. Nuance is located at 804 S. Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa. The gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
