The most recent graduating class of Hallmark Institute of Photography's Professional Photography program raised over $13,000 which is being donated to Doctors Without Borders/Medecins san Frontieres.

Turners Falls, MA, July 13, 2007 -- The most recent graduating class of Hallmark Institute of Photography's Professional Photography program raised over $13,000 during a two-week Benefit Exhibition and Print Sale. One hundred percent of the entire proceeds from the print sale are being donated to aid the international humanitarian medical organization, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins san Frontieres.
The exhibit and sale, held June 21 through July 1, 2007, is a result of collaboration between contributing students from Hallmark Institute of Photography's Class of 2007 and the Hallmark Museum of Contemporary Photography.
The exhibit showcased over one hundred fifty professional-level photographs donated by the students from this year's graduating class, with images holding an appeal for a wide range of tastes and preferences in visual art.
Doctors Without Borders, serving since 1971, delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and manmade disasters, or exclusion from healthcare, in more than 70 countries. Volunteer doctors, nurses, water-and-sanitation experts, administrators and other medical and non-medical professionals depart on more than 3,800 aid missions annually.
Providing essential health care, rehabilitating hospitals and clinics, performing surgery, battling epidemics, carrying out vaccination campaigns, operating feeding centers for malnourished children, these volunteers frequently work in the most remote or dangerous parts of the world.
Doctors Without Borders' decision to intervene in any country or crises is based solely on an independent assessment of people's needs - not on political, economic, or religious interests. Hallmark Institute of Photography provides a real world, serious approach to professional photographic education, where training is completed within ten months. Its objective is to successfully educate and graduate professional image-makers with the technical, artistic and business skills necessary for success. Upon completion of the 10-month program, graduates can expect to open their own photographic business or fill preliminary or advanced employment positions in the diverse and competitive marketplace of today's professional imaging industry.
