This Software Was A Nightmare.
The idea was simple - but, when it came to developing it, apparently the only way to get this done... was to convert the .pdf to a .exe file.
... Well: After surveying people, I found that the overwhelming response was that people did not like clicking .exe files. Personally I don't have a problem with .exe eBooks, but I realized that I needed to find another way to get this done.
But, it seemed this application was not possible to make... At all.
I looked on softpedia.com and download.com for an application - there was none similar to what I wanted.
I went to forums to talk about getting this developed - no one could do it without converting the file to .exe.
I pored through adobe's 274 page manual - but there was no mention of it that I could understand.
I put my project on freelance programming sites and contacted every single programmer I had a relationship with, asking if they could do this...
I literally begged to pay hundreds - even thousands - of dollars to just get this made... guess what... no one could do it...!
In fact for a while, I conceded that this couldn't be done, until, about three weeks after giving up looking... I had an instant message...

0 Rated Freelance Programmer...
The message had grammar mistakes, uncapitalized i's, bad formatting...
... But what was important, was that the programmer had given a demo of a .pdf that could in fact open pop-up windows on entry and exit.
This was possible - and it could be done!... Just after I had given up.
There were still problems, like actually being able to create the software that would let you make your own entry and exit messages and pop-ups, to any .pdf file...
... AND the fact that it couldn't do everything I wanted. But it was as good as it could possibly get -- and once you see this effect for yourself (keep reading) -- you'll see what I mean.
So: I arranged for the 0 rated programmer, me, and my usual programmer to talk on MSN - and after exchanging details we had agreed to develop the software, together.
